^^^What both of them said^^^

You'll also have red, yellow, green, black, and white eventually. Although some can attempt to overgrow corals, they are easy to keep in check. Most are just fine IMO.

Congrats, and Welcome!!!

ditto

nice colors there

Yes. It will likely die. If it does, do not take it personally. The stuff needs strong full-spectrum light and water parameters near ocean level. Most of the low-light, heavy blue tanks of today where people add in waste products to raise test kit levels are not good places for this sponge to thrive.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Yes, that's a sponge; as mentioned above most sponges don't fare very well in our tanks (though a few do, with some doing well enough to be somewhat invasive). Assuming that it's not one of the invasive ones, if you want to try and keep it growing in your tank, I'd suggest reading through my post in the thread linked below:

Also, even if you get it growing well, many fish will find it a tasty treat, including lots of angelfish.

I have a bit of blue and lots of bright yellow living the cracks where the fish cannot get to them.

Ok thanks, it running ramped in my tank a long with a green grass algae, red hard coating and lots of aiptasia, I have some critters to help get it under control
