Recently, I picked up a blue sympodium for my mixed reef.

The tank is full of soft corals, with a few lips and some sps. Everything is doing great, and I'm unaware of any parameter changes recently. The sympodium looked great for a couple of weeks and would occasionally restart for an hour or so like all soft corals. When it was open, it had great polyp extension, and even grew a bit.

Then it close up an hasn't opened in over a week. Any ideas of what might be causing this and if it is an issue or if it is a normal phase they go through. My first idea was that there may be some chemical warfare going on with all the soft corals in the tank. Because of this, I just changed the carbon in my carbon reactor about a half hour ago, but I thought I'd ask here as well. Please advise if you've owned this coral and have any insights.

Think you are moving in the right direction with swapping the carbon... could be softie warfare.. it has not changed in spot in the tank, and I am not sure if like other softies will shed..

Lets see a picture of the frag/colony
