Blue tang acting crazy

Hi guys
I noticed for the last 2 days, that my blue tang is swimming very fast from left to right, back and forth in front of the glass
I never seen it before, have you guys experience it before?

Mine was pretty neurotic, and did that constantly. How long have you had it?

Possibly seeing its reflection. I agree that they can be idiosyncratic. What is the size of the tank?

The reflection thing is a visual anomaly we see from viewing the inside through the outside of the clear bit.. the fish see right into your room - or so I have been told by someone I trust. That said I had a kole tang to the same thing.. it frantically swam from one end to the other... this one started bullying everyone and I had to remove it... I had only had it a month.... not saying the same for you.... always.. yeah how long have you had it?

I would have to say that - at least at some level - tangs can definitely see their reflection in the glass. Most times, after I clean my front glass (about once a week, and there's usually a decent amount of film algae to remove) my yellow and purple tangs will actively do battle with the glass. Not just running it, but flaring their fins and tail-slapping.

That's mostly true. In certain instances, they can see their reflections. For example, if the room lights are off, and if the angle is right. Similar to how if you're in your house at night with the lights on and you look at a window.

Anything to stress him out? So far since I’ve had mine she has picked a spot on the qt reef I made and loves to hang out in that area as if she never left the ocean
