what should I do she is in a qt has been for about three weeks now doing a copper treatment on the fish she is the only one with white on her

What are you treating for, Ick? Velvet? What kind of copper are you using and what level is it at? Are you testing and what test kit are you using? When did the laying on the bottom like that start?

Yes was treating for ick don't have a test kit yet so stop the drops last week till I can get a test kit

Could be anything at this point then... we dont' know if the copper level is at therapeutic levels or if it's too high. It could be an infection setting in ect. Can you take a sample to your LFS in the morning and have them test the copper level? What type of copper are you using?

+1 If the copper is too low that will allow ich theronts to reinfect the fish. If the copper is too high that can kill the fish outright. You need a test kit or someone to test the copper level for you.

Cupramine

Ok. so you need the seachem or salifert test kit to measure with. If you can get a sample to the water to your LFS or a friend with one of those copper tests, then you can get the actual level in the QT. You want it to be between .3-.5 for cupramine.

@502 I wanna tell you to do a water change to lower the Cu level in case it's too high. Because your fish might be dying due to copper poisoning. However, if this is velvet instead of ich then lowering the Cu level could allow the dinospores through and that might kill your fish. Tough call without a test kit to go off of; wish I could be more helpful. :(

How is she doing?
