so I'm so clueless right now after spending so much time quarantining this fox face my dang blue tang just went completely bananas and virtually destroyed him. Before returning him to the lfs cause my blue is infinitely more important to me does anyone have any ideas he is barely alive at his point and him dying is not an option!!! Help needed!

I'm guessing he's back in QT now? I would definitely keep him isolated. I'm not sure, but I'm guessing besides antibiotics to ward off infection there's not much you can do :/
@Humblefish @melypr1985

Ok he is in a tank alone with an air stone and alive but breathing really hard as an update..... not sure where to go from here he is super stressed and changing colors again. Not completely lost his yellow but getting there all splotchy at this point

I'll throw some anti in here didn't think of that whole situation kinda threw me off. This can't be normal behavior for a blue!can it? I have 4 anthias on order for this sat to add to my current 3 is this gonna happen again!!!

It's a 90 gallon with tons of room and hiding places makes no sense to me what fish attacks a fox face!!!

Ugh well ty for your assistance I have a fellow reefer I may give him to hate to take him back to lfs jail lol!

If he's injured you could try a methyline blue dip. It's good for injuries. An acriflavin dip after would help ward off infection. If hes still eating then vitamins in the food would help boost his immune system and help him heal. Antibiotics may be needed soon, but I'm afraid they would suppress his appetite just a bit too soon.

X2. It doesn't sound good for your fox, hopefully it's just in shock and it's not as bad as it looks/sounds :/

The next 24-48 hours will probably tell the tale.

I wouldn't try it again, I'd bet the results would be the same. Two large herbivores, not surprised the blue took offense.

I hope he is ok. If you do decide to try again, even if with a different fish, what worked for me with a mean purple tang was a mirror outside the tank for a couple days. Kept the attention and he stopped attacking everyone with his tail spike.

+1 MB bath if he has visible injuries: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/methylene-blue.257467/

I'm guessing the culprit is a Powder Blue Tang?

If you didn't try this it might help. When the anthias are ready to go in the DT turn out the lights put them in the tank and watch them if the tang gets aggressive remove him and let the anthias get settled in a few days and then put the tang back in.

Still checking on him color is back to normal thankfully. Though it would seem the blue did a number on his side before I could get him out. Ill check on him again in the morning, though he hasn't eaten yet so vitamins will have to wait maybe tomorrow morning.
