Hello reefers!

Today j just discovered few white spots on my blue tang, could you guys help me to identify whether is Ick or not? She's still eating and resting between rocks, many thanks!

If yes I'll set up a hospital tank tomorrow, and does it also mean I will need to take all of my fishes out of the QT and transfer into hospital tank for copper treatment?

Thanks again!

It's a bit hard to see on this end. Are the spots like salt crystals or are they cottony/fibrous looking?

Its a viral condition similar to vibriosis and very treatable. Can be affected by stress abut also related to diet. Assure good water quality and oxygen delivery. Add garlic to its' food. In addition to diet, feed at least high nutrition diets. Nutrition is critical for tang health. Be sure to offer quality foods prepared for herbivores, and offer dried marine algae (Nori soaked in garlic) regularly products like Sea Veggies, [plankton, mysis, and pellets.

Hi BIg G, thank you so much for replying! It's hard to tell since the spots are very tiny at this stage, but I'm more prone to the salt crystals looking as for now.

Thank you so much for the reply Vetteguy, after reading your review, I found some organic Ginger power at my kitchen and added to the diet, will go get some garlic to more. Lately, I've been feeding all of my fishes by a mix of seafood packs that I got from the Asian market (Using a juicer), I was thinking probably the current diet is not comprehensive for their diet, should I add some pellets(spectrum) or brine shrimps to their diet? Thanks again :)

Agree. I recently got a trio of Anthias. One had a big lump on her head and a few small ones near the head. Super good diet and focus on her immune system and they’re almost gone. She never missed a beat.
