Hi everyone. Ok story. Got dory on the Friday before Xmas which was the 18th. Put her in my 30g qt tank no meds. Next day she was flashing a lot. With jays advice. Next day started copper 2.0ppm copper safe. She had ich spots by that afternoon. She’s been good for a week. White spots going away but last two days she has these. What is this?

Could be ich, but those spots seem rather large to be that. I’m thinking a possible bacterial infection? That’s if they keep appearing in the same spot. I’d just keep to a treatment for ich until you know otherwise, just to be safe.

Another one. She sees the camera and hides

Was just doing some reading and research, and if it is in fact a parasite, it would have to be flukes. You could try a FW dip, see if that provides relief to the flashing.

The tail does look a bit inflamed though, so possible concern for an infection. I’d like to see a better pic of the tail, if possible.

I’m in Canada. No general cure. She’s in her 30 days off copper abs by then I have prazipro coming. She deft got ich as soon as I brought her home.

That isn't ich, too large and too diffuse. The fish is still in copper, right? This could be flukes, but more likely it is bacterial, or just excess mucus brought on by the copper. Everything else ok? The fish is breathing normally and eating good?

At this juncture I think you have three main options: do nothing to see what happens. Dose with antibiotics or dose with prazipro. I suppose you could dose both at the same time, but that, combined with copper, seems a bit too much.

Thanks jay. There was ich a week ago and has slowly dissipated. She’s still in copper been one week. Yes I feed her 3 times a day. Pellets flakes frozen mysis brine and there’s nori and she eats like mad! She seems to be doing so well has a spot along the live rock she stays abs grazes and has a sleeping spot. I think I’ve done well with my qt this time.

One spot is on her dorsal fin. So I figure maybe bacterial as well. I will keep it up. Keep feeding like mad and hopefully prazipro show up sooner than later

Should I do a fresh water dip? Or not stress her out

I would say not. Hepatus get stressed out by FW dips (although they don't die from them unless very sick). Flukes don't usually leave large white marks like that, in fact, most cases of flukes are invisible - you just see minor skin cloudiness and scratching....

Gosh, this looks just like Lymphocystis

This is my 30g setup. Tank is cycled I’m trying my best. I have 2 bio wheel 170s filtering plus an air stone

Update. Dory is doing well as always. The ich spots are prettt much gone and most of those spots from yesterday are gone except maybe one. Thanks all for your help. 3 more weeks of copper than onto prazipro

Ich seems to be gone been 1.5 weeks in copper. The spots in question are gone just one small one left that seems to fade daily. I love this fish so much.

Those are bubbles and debris in the water didn’t realized this pic makes the fish look like it has ich. Happy New Years!

I have almost this identical scenario. Is there currently a primary suspect for this condition? In my case I took a blue tang through copper then metro/prazi quarantine. I cant say I did it all correctly by the book, but after about a month I observed the fish was blemish free and transfered him into DT. The very next day he had these broad blemishes all over his body. I started my FOWLR DT on Prazi immediately. Removed carbon and left the skimmer to run without the cup. Now after 24 hours he looks about the same. No idea what course of action I should take now.

These weird blemishes only stuck around for a few days. It they came after the ich spots left and about a week in copper. Dory is doing so well and eating 4 times a day so I’m not too worried. She still has 2.5 weeks of copper and than prazipro so we will see how it goes. No rush since the new display is t eve here yet!!
