Blue Tang v. Royal Gramma

Added a royal Gramma and 2 Bengali cards today. Walked in a couple hours later to the Tang just SHREDDING the Gramma. Sucked.

I've never seen that aggressiveness before. I thought they "got along?"

Bonus question:. Haven't seen the cardinals since I put in but I figured they were hiding. You think the Tang crushed them too?

It may be. Tangs are gracious but can be vicious jerks. My Powder blue is really starting to irritate me as its grown big and nasty and is soon to be evicted

possible but probably not, blue tangs Usely don’t kill cardinals because of how low a threat they are

Thanks to all for your replies. Was that stupid to add a gramma like I did? He was pretty dang small.

I'm certainly still learning but like to think I'm not a novice anymore and Google helps immensely.

Tank looks fantastic and parameters are solid.

Should I give up on adding new fish for the time being and focus more on corals?

I'd like to add a couple more fish to the tank and I love the grammas but that doesn't seem to be an option.

That was brutal to watch.

That wasn't stupid at all. I've had them together peacefully, and my aquarium store has recommended that combination over and over. HIPPO Tangs can just become jerks if they "own" the tank for a long period of time. So sorry that happened.
