Blue Tang White spot or??

I have no idea what this is . If it's not white spot I'm confused. I purchased the fish like this and he seems to me to be healthy and active . I've given him garlic exc.

It's not white spot. I can't see it clearly enough but it looks like it could be an injury from capture. Hopefully it is not a bacterial infection. If it starts getting worse you may need to be ready to treat the fish.
 
I agree that looks like an injury possibly infected. Is it worsening?

Does it come and go? My yellow belly hippo intermittently shows bleached out blotched but they’re intermittent and go away for a week or more. It’s a new one for me but this one looks more like an injury.

Great observation!

It is in the right location for HLLE. Very severe case, but let's hope that is what it is!
