Last year i did a copper treatment for all my fish. Copper power and hannah checker for 45 days. All has been good for a year but i put in a chaeto after 15 days in qt. My blue tang now has 2 white spots on each side after a week putting in the chaeto. Did i mess up introducing the chaeto?

It's possible that it was brought in on your chaeto. Can you post pictures of the fish for a proper diagnosis?

Unfortunately, that is a possibility. It's frustrating, but Ich can encyst on the surface of something (including chaeto) and survive up to 76 days before it hatches and looks for a host. That's why the disease experts recommend at least a 76 day fishelss quarantine for things like chaeto, wet live rock, snails, coral, etc.

There are exceptions, such as a shrimp that can molt and shed the top layer where ich may be attached, but for the most part, 76 days is the recommendation for non-fish additions.

I cant get a good picture. But my blue tang has never had white spots before the chaeto. I knew i shouldve asked you guys before i put anything into my tank. I hate myself right now. Its going to be a month from now before i can qt and clean out the main tank. Can a blue tang survive ich for a month or is it too risky that i may wake up one day and see it covered in ich?

Ich management is definitely doable
Check out @Humblefish thread on the subject.

pLEASE post pic.
Can be ich, velvet, crypto or even flukes and a pic will help us best assess your situation and recommend a satisfactory treatment.
To start with, you can give it a freshwater dip which at times can be an only cure. Using a clean bucket, preferably RO water fill bucket at temperature same or a tad warmer NOT COLDER than your tank and let it swim for 3-4 minutes or less IF it becomes a little distressed.

Here is a link for doing a FW dip.
