Blue tang with a yellow belly

my blue tang is starting to get a yellow belly and yellow in between his dorsal fin on top. Is this a maturity thing? I have never seen a blue tang with yellow bellies.

yep there called yellow belly blue tangs.I think the come from Africa.

Yellow belly hippo tangs are a desireable variant.

Yup that's just a less common and more beautiful variant! I too have one. They often fetch 2-3 times the price, so if you accidentally acquired one then you did well!

Their colors get deeper as they get older, mine has a little red visible with the black between his dorsal rays when he raises it up.
