I
wood like to no If they can be keep together In a 125 my yello tang ben in the tank for 6 months I wood like to ad a blue tang to my reef

Yes and no. It's really dependent upon the individual fish. You may need to take some steps to make a more successful attempt. I'd buy a blue that is as large or even a little larger than the yellow. I'm betting that the yellow isn't going to take to the newcomer without some aggression. You can also try rearranging your rock work when you add the new fish to throw the yellow out of his "territory" and let them both reestablish at the same time. I have a blue, yellow, purple and naso all together in a 180 so, yes, it can be done. That being said, some fish just won't live together and you should be ready to evict one of them to a new home if you need to. Good luck!

shift the rock around before adding the Blue Tang, this will upset the Yellows territory and should leave the other alone.

Shouldn't be an issues being that they do not have the same body type. I have years ago kept a yellow then later added a blue in a 55g.

The yellow won't like it. They are territorial.

QT the hippo

Should b fine. I have a yellow a blue a bristle toothe and a sohal in a 180. Just rearrange as suggested earlier

I just had the worst experience trying to add a 5in powder blue tang. I tried to do everything right ,I quarantined the fish for 6 weeks changing water everyday , I got him to eat every type of food that I feed my tank , I waited until night to add him to my 180 gal , I made sure he was larger then my other tangs. so after a restless night I woke up the next morning to find him swimming as happily as can be. later that day I was watching my tank and I watched my sail fin tang corner him and with one hit from his tail my beloved new tang was done , by the next morning he was dead. I love this hobby but I hate losing animals.

who that's a bummer after all that and ther not chep so far my blue tang is about 4/12 in. my yello tang is about 5 in. he put his fins up so far but my blue tang is not shy you think he been in the tank longer than the yello when I put in a new fish all the other fish look him over but my blue tang puts them in ther place I put in a ras last week they wood not let him swim around the tank a week later he is one of the guys .The blue tang goes wher ever he wants do you have a lot of rock in your tank ? I have a lot of rock and coral I have 15 fish the yello and the blue and a marine beta are the biggest fish they have been in the tank 3 years if my blue can last a week I think he will be one of the guys . sorry about the fish
