Blue throat trigger in mixed reef?

Just left my LFS and they had a gorgeous blue throat. Who has them in a reef and what do you do for a clean up crew. Pretty sure any trigger will eat any snails, shrimp, crab etc.

There is a slight risk, but clean up crew should be safe. Blue throats and their cousins crosshatch and sargasso are plankton eaters.

I've kept one with cleaner shrimp, hermits, and snails.

I kept one for along time.. Never touched my shrimp...
Only thing he went after was some really tiny chromis..
They are great in a reef. They do get large and require a pretty big tank..
I would not put one in anything less than a 120.

did you have issues with it messing up your aquascape? ive always wanted one but i read they can mess with your rocks didnt want to deal with that

I had one for years in my last mixed reef. Model citizen and such a great fish.

I have one in a 72x24 reef tank. He has been a model citizen. Hasn't bothered and CUC or fish. Eats nori and other food from my hand.

Agreed , I got a small about a year and a half ago . Thought it was a male but it's a female mine doesn't bother snails or a cleaner shrimp and is pretty much model citizen . Sometimes she will pretend fight with my majestic or bellus by spinning around each other, like "go ahead bro " lol but they dont actually do anything .
