Hi, I just saw your post- are both of the trigger’s eyes affected or just the right one?
Are you sure about the yellow tang having ich? That’s going to be difficult to deal with in that tank....

Very hard to focus on eye and skin as glass has a lot of dots or algae on it.
The eye crystalization almost says flukes but again hard to tell with white dots on glass/pic.

The tangs I believe is ich they are still eating like pigs and yesterday I put a big uv on cause on my old red sea 350 i had this issue 2 years ago with my purple tang and with in 3 days it cleared up after I put a uv on and he is in my new tank doing well i just think the fish got stressed and some got ich as for the blue throat he is not eating but still in quarantine i put coppermine and is only one eye

My fish have ich and one tang bad it has been told to me to remove all my fish out of display tank and put them qt tank i have 6 tangs and about 10 other fish plus the pair of blue throats my 20 gallon qt will be to small to hold that many fish so i have a 100 gallon rubbermade container that i used to hold my fish during the upgrade to new tank but i need to take 50 gallons from display tank and 20 gallons from qt tank to give me 70 gallons in qt tank and throw a small piece of rock and a couple of pipe fittings so fish can hide and a big air stone plus some power heads so i can treat them does any body have any other ideas for qt setup being fish are going to be in there for two months while reef tank goes two months with no fish and after all these I am going to leave these big qt setup so every fish i get from here on gets qt before going in display tank also going to convert 20 gallon to qt for corals and invertebrates spent to much money and time on these new red sea 750 to have to go threw these again so also want now should i get a filter on the barrel setup and if so what do you recommend

I'm so sorry - as I had said, treating for ich is going to be really tough in that tank. What you outlined above seems to be the best solution, but certainly not ideal. You'll need to monitor the ammonia closely (with a good test kit, not a badge). I would use Copper Power or Coppersafe to treat them, as you may need to use ammonia remover and that won't work with Cupramine.

How bad is the ich so far? Catching it soon is key to curing it without fish loss.

I know the common wisdom is that you need to leave your tank fallow for 76 days - but that is a calculated, theoretical number, a worst case scenario. I used to use 45 days myself. You can reduce that 76 number a bit by raising the water temp in your DT be a few degrees (not harming the corals of course!). You would want to add a few or your easier-to-catch fish first, as test fish.

Jay thank you one yellow is not doing well but i have not been able to catch it but the other fish are no longer showing any ich but tomorrow i am removing all the fish to qt which is a 100 gallon rubbermade container i am going to take 50 gallons from dt put that in qt then i have 20 in my little qt with the blue throat which is doing much better and started to eat today so that would give me 70 gallons of water from tanks with a biological activity to say then i will add 20 new gallons of salt water so hopefully that will save my yellow and give that dt tank some time to clean up over the next 7 weeks and i will follow your advice on meditation

Now female blue throat died along with a clown and a yellow tang I tried tonight to catch the fish and just ended up destroying corals and not getting any fish out i am out of patience with the tank just decided at this point i am not going to destroy my tank getting the fish out what ever happens to the fish happens

I think there may of been flukes to cause the blue throat trigger fishwatered dipped him look like some stuff feel off and his eye has been much better and has went back to eating this has been going on for a week the good thing is i got all my clowms out and into qt it seems with the lights out the fish have been easier to catch so threw tonight and the next night or two i will try to get all my fish out

So last night got half my fish out in to qt so now my rubbermade cointainer which has 50 gallons of saltwater in and some tangs i want to start treating them but my question is i am going to combine my 20 gallon qt with the big qt and 20 gallon qt was treated with copper safe a week ago and i want to treat the 50 gallon qt so should i treat the 50 gallon first with coppersafe then add the treated 20 gallons in or due i need to retreat the 20 gallons the bottle says it lasts for a month

You’ll need to measure these volumes carefully, don’t guess at it, but assume that any coppersafe treated water is still at full dose, and subtract that volume from the total volume in the larger tub.

Sorry to hear this. I am in the same boat with the same tank. Currently on week two of copper power in 20gal qt. Its stressful but you got this.

Can i treat coppersafe and a product for fluces in the qt tank at the same time also being dt will have no fish for two months do i need to treat that tank too or will it just run it life cyle and die off

You can treat copper and prazi if that is your fluke treatment.

In a fishless tank, ich can still take quite a bit of time before it becomes non-infective when you then add new fish. 75 to 80 days is the full period to let a tank go fallow. You can treat the tank if you don't have invertebrates in it, and don't expect to, otherwise the copper can contaminate your rockwork.
