I'm trying quarantine a Blue Throat trigger and a Pink Spot goby together. I'm already having second thoughts about the trigger. He acts really shy and stays in his pipe, until you leave the room. I had to place a divider last night to protect the goby. It could be that the tank is too small. IM 20. I've already ran 2 batches of 4 fish through there no problem. The display tank is 160 gallon. I'm hoping someone will tell me that he will act better in a large tank. I plan on moving the goby first and letting him establish. What do you folks think?

Triggers can be aggressive and will definitely pick on fish that they see as an easy target. Blue Throat are supposed to be better behaved, but they still are triggerfish. How big is it?

I’ve have a pair of mated blue throats triggers, and although they are a very large presence in the tank, if you spook them, they quickly hide away in their rock cave/home

It may be the small tank and lack of hiding places is spooking him and I would have thought you’ll be ok once he establishes his home in your main display. They do need lots of rocks so they can make a nest, so be prepared for them to dig sand and make a cave!

They are great fish

That looks fine and I really like the aquascape design, very nice.

Be prepared for a few sand storms as he settles in! Lol
