Blue tip acro HELP !

Can any one help me by telling me what possibly is stopping this acro from showing it's polyps ? They should be bright yellow !!

What could be going on ? I can' see any pest on

Is it a wild piece? and how long have you had it? Looks very unhappy. I would double check for pests, and then water params

Hi and thanks for replying , I really can't see any pests but I guess that's not guaranteed just by looking through the glass !

I think is a wild caught coal ! I know there harder to please but I got 2 at the same time last Friday and the other sps looks amazing so I'm really confused with what it could be ?

What should I do to help the blue tip extend its polyps

Could my lights be on for to long during the day ? Should i try moving the coral to a different spot in the tank may be ?

First, I would take the coral out and dip it if you haven't already. A lot of wild pieces come in carrying pests. What lights are you running and for how long? Wild acros usually do best in high lighting and very high flow IME.

Ok I will dip it and see if that helps ! I really cant see any thing but you never know ,
Im running ATI sun power T5 dimmable unit! 8x39w 6 blues one pink and one white ? The bulbs are old tho ,
The lights come on at 0900 and 100% by 1300 till 1900 and then slop down to off by 2200 !

When I brought the coral the LFS did say it might gain a little more brown color than what it was in there display tanks! Iv notice it going a little more darker but I have 0 Nitrates and PO4 as far as I can tell with salifert test kits

The bugs are tiny, white or reds bugs will live inside the polyps keeping them retracted you'll see them scurry across the coral occasionally if you look close. Ive seen them on many mariculture/wild acros. Definitely would dip to just to be safe.

If it's getting darker thats a good sign, usually a coral that's been deprived of sufficient light will go dark or brown as it's coloring back up, just the zoox adjusting to a new environment. It may just need time to come around.

I think the LFS uses zeovit in there systems because a lot of there corals are more bleached than dark colors

If I'm honest im a bit worrid about giving it a dip just in case it makes it die ! But if the acropora is not showing signs of getting better then I will dip it sooner rather than later

Iv just sorted through some spear bulbs iv got for the ATI sun power and swapped them just to see if that helps ! I will be buying new bulbs in the near future , thanks for the advice
