From what I see at this point this anemone which still will not eat seems to be getting healthier. Its tenticles were retracted but as you can see by the attached picture the tenticles are now extending. Its mouth remains closed and it has finally attached to the rock work. I touched its tenticles bare handed for stickyness and did not feel much at all unless I kept my finger in place long enough. Another words it does not strike me as healthy enough just yet to catch any prey to eat. I am curious! Is this nem now extending its tenticles because its health is improving or is it because it is starving to death.?

How long have you had him? My RBTA tentacles are not sticky they curl up when there's food introduced.

I got him last Monday. He was not attached well at the Petco store but his mouth was also closed.

That looks like a Haitian Anemone
Nope its s blue tip sebae. From what I have seen on websites its also referenced as a leather anemone. Although I'm not quite certain as to why that is.

I have a Hawaiian Malu and it never likes food i feed directly so I stopped feeding it and it's been doing fine for almost a year now.

Just remember to have sufficient lighting and good water quality. Fish poop helps too.

He looks healthy to me I would just leave him be for a week or so and then try feeding him.

I would say he is extending his tentacles to get more light. Looks good and healthy too me.
