Hi, I recently picked up a blue tort and within a couple weeks the tips turned purple and the base turned green. It actually looks pretty nice, as-is, but I'd like to get it back to blue.

Should I try more or less light to get it back to blue?

Here'a a pic...

What type of lighting are you using? And can I have your parameters please sir :)

I'm running a Giesemann Spectra...but it is the older version with the mogul halides ;) I'm running 2x250 Radiums and 4 ATI T5's (1-Aquablue Special, 2x Blue+ and 1 - 420nm) Also, a Reefbrite XHO for pop.

Phosphates = 0.03
Nitrates < 1
Alk = 8.6

Nothing unusual for an acro tank.

I have it placed in the center of the tank, up high. I thought it should get enough light even though it is not directly under one of the reflectors since it should get spread from both lights. i don't have a par meter so I don't know if it is too much light or too little light.

I could flip a coin and move it to more or less light and see what happens but figured if someone had experience with these then I'd rather move it once ;)

IME- I usually set frags low in the tank until they get good and acclimated, however some frags will go through a green or brown phase when first introduced to a tank. I'd honestly give it 4-6 weeks or so before you move it. But I don't have any personal experience with blue torts, I do have an ORA frog skin tort however and so far it's kept its original colors.

Good point, I should leave it alone for a while, thanks.
