Not sure anyone here can help. I can't get the controller to configure. Red Light flashes green after I put to the screen but then starts flashing red.

What is wrong. Is the controller bad? Manual says if it goes green then red to contact customer service.

Trying to get my hood back on my tank this weekend

In the blink up process, turn your phone brightness all the way up. Keep your phone literally like a centimeter from the IMP card. Turn down all your room lights. It may even help to put a towel over your phone and Bluefish to get rid of ambient lighting during the blink up process.

Took me probably over 20 tries and over a few hours to get a "mini" to sync..
If I remember correctly (using fairly low res but large tablet) I actually had to "slightly" tilt it. May just been a coincidence though..or my memories fading..

In "my" experience it's an overall PIA........
Doubt if it's broke.. just takes a......................while

Personally.... they need a manual option.......

Also, I don't believe it will work on the 5G band of your router if it gas one. You'll have to switch your phone to the 2.4ghz wifi band.

And how does one do this? Will play around some more. thanks
If you open up your wifi settings on your phone you should see something like this; all of the wifi signals your phone is picking up.

In this picture a good example us the last two, one ends in 2.4, the other in 5. You're going to need to connect to the non 5g network in your home.

If this doesn't make sense and you can post a screenshot of available networks I csn probably tell you if it's part of the problem. I had the same issue you are experiencing until I switched my wifi band.

Okay, I'm in like Flynn!!! Switched to my other home network--the cable router-- and used the towel trick. Didn't have the 2.4 option. Need an updated router box for that from what I read. I'd rather use the other network we have as it is usually more reliable, but don't want to mess with it. Got the hood on and everything works! Turned settings to no more than 30 % to begin with.

thanks all

Okay, couple more questions. In setting your times, does the "length" of time include the ramp up or down time. So if morning starts at 8 with a 90 min ramp and 240 min length (4 hrs), is it a total of 4 hrs or 4 hrs plus 1.5 hrs.

Also, for midday there is no choice of length so is the evening length of 4 hrs (example) the full length at high midday then start a ramp down to evening (90 min) or 3 hrs of midday with 1 hr ramp down to evening

And evening, does that start at the beginning of ramp down from midday and same deal: if length is 4 hrs, does it include that ramp time.

And night if it starts at 10 and as a 90 ramp, did that ramp start 90 min before 10 or at 10

trying to draw my graph. If my ending time is 830 and my night is 10 do I have to fiddle to get it to time correctly. Hope this makes sense....

What is a good setting for night. Blues only at about 3%?

Also if I want to name my channels, does anyone know the color names?

The easiest way to answer your timing questions is if you set it from 8am to 7pm your lights will come on dim at 8 and turn off at 7. So your ramping all takes place between those hours.

I don't use any night lights personally but even 1% is pretty bright. I found that my night feeding corals didn't like even the lowest night lights so I just turn them off. They could probably adapt, but I'm asleep anyway. [emoji23]

At mid day max my numbers are 90/35 and my tank sea pretty happy. Definitely ramp slowly though! Over a few weeks.

I have the natural sunlight on. Anyone know the official colors if I want to customize the channel names. There are 2 blues but not sure which is royal blue.

how is this for a light schedule to begin with. I figure after a week or 2 I can up the intensities a bit. This is for Steve's Leds in my RS Max c250

8-1230--90 ramp 4.5 blue 45, red 6, blue 45, white 20, gn 5, violet 25
1230-6--90 ramp 4.5 blue 70, red 16, blue 70, white 30, gn 15, violet 45
6-1030-90 ramp 4.5 blue 45, red 6, blue 45, white 20, gn 5, violet 25
Night 2% each blue

I need lights more on in evening for hubby and figure the extra time in the am and evening are ramp times and not so bright. I can always adjust to 9 or 930 in the morning when I get up

I don’t believe I’ve seen it mentioned, but what is the brand / make of your lights?

Okay, these led's use only 2 channels so a blue mix and white mix. Set to 60/30 and will ramp to 70-75/30-40 over a week or so depending on if I like the way it looks.
