I'm looking to get some feedback on using the Bluefish LED Controller. If anyone has one or has experience with one I could really use some tips on settings. I just can't seem to get mine to keep settings. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

i have a mini and i love it. what steps are you taking when you're trying to save your settings?

@Lori N and @cromag27

Just so happens I participated in a thread today regarding the Bluefish. Full disclosure, I know nothjng about them. But the two users above have some knowledge.

To be honest the only place I see "Save" is when you adjust the custom schedule. Maybe I'm going about things wrong but so far the controller makes no sense to me and the UI & UX was not well thought out. But that's my feeling now as I'm frustrated after a couple weeks of trying to get it set correctly. It took me a couple days to get it to respond to anything I did and now it flickers at times I've set. I see there are settings for naming channels but they don't stay the name I put in, it just goes back to channel. This would be nice because my lights don't match the colors on the APP making it difficult to set. I've enabled Storms, Clouds, and such but never see any change unless I go to Demo. One other thing for now is that I can't seem to get the minimum dimming set right and the lights flicker at anything around 18 and after that they shut off. I'm using a setup that someone custom built with Meanwell drivers and using channels 1/2, 3/4 for those and I have channels 5/6 running a Kessill A360W E Tuna. Here's a pic of my setup and Thanks for your timely response.

first i would confirm the output of your drivers. 5v or 10v? did you match the controller settings accordingly? what type of drivers are they?

also, do you have the big version or mini?

Full not mini and Meanwell drivers 10v. The controller has 0-10v and that's what I've selected.

i believe those are pwm. have you tried it with just the kessil?

No, it's working I'm just having trouble getting used to the navigation. I did just get the channels named now. I'm confused as to how morning, midday, evening, and night along with time and ramping compare to custom schedule? My lights go off anywhere under 20% and I'm trying to get as smooth a transition as possible from sunrise, sunset, and moonlight. Just can't seem to get it worked out. Plus I don't really see any difference in percentage values per channel. I'm sure there is but visually they appear either on or off for each channel. Of course blending in various colors changes the overall look a lot.

did you set the minimum dimming level?

honestly, i went full custom because there weren’t enough options for me with the presets.

I agree and custom is what I'm trying to achieve. If setting the lights minimum dimming level to 18% which is where they turn on or off do I use 18% as if it were 0%? I'm trying to get the right colors throughout the day and because they seem to be either on or off it completely changes the color when a certain color comes on. For instance, if channel 1 alone is on it is very much white light but then if I raise channel 5 up to 18% it turns on and the color turns very purple abruptly. The whole reason I wanted custom lights was to avoid this sudden change and have a smooth transition throughout the day.

if your lights turn off or flicker at 18% then set the minimum to 18%.

unfortunately i can’t help with the color issue because i only run blues and whites. but i am able to notice small, incremental changes in % and changing one does not affect the other.

I think I've finally got a grip on this controller. The other issue someone here may be able to help with is that the controller has three stereo Jacks labeled 1/2,3/4,5/6. My strip lights fill 1/2, 3/4. My Kessill is connected to 5/6 but I used a splitter to the Kessill because it has 2 inputs. Without them connected I can manually control whites and blues separately. Connected like I have it to the controller there is only control of the blue. I'm not sure if the way I have it is the only option but I'm not using all of the Kessill as of now. Any ideas?
