Thanks for the list, I have some of that already from raising Nanno. For the light and container, can I just use a CFL bulb and a 5 gallon bucket?

A bucket is unsuitable for micro algae culturing. It is to easy to contaminate it. You need to keep your cultures clean and pure. Thanks for the list, I have some of that already from raising Nanno. For the light and container, can I just use a CFL bulb and a 5 gallon bucket?
Btw, what is the longest you ever had a Bluestripe Pipefish? And at what size was it when you got it?

OK 3 or 4 years. The one I have now must be a Geezer.Paul, you mentioned 3-4 years in your pipefish article

5 years, that's great! Mine are coming up on a year.OK 3 or 4 years. The one I have now must be a Geezer.![]()
5 years sounds about right.I don't remember but the female I have now is about 5 years old as I got her as a pair in my last house. My Janss pipefish killed the male by almost biting him in half.
I am pretty sure I normally keep them for 4 or 5 years.
You can try. But keep in mind that that's formulated for tap water chlorine concentrations.Hey @ThRoewer- I just had a thought. While I wait for the thio, couldn’t I use Seachem Prime as a dechlorinator?
