I came home today and found water spilling dripping on the side of my tank, I was confused at the time and I think I figured who the culprit was.

Later around dinner time after I fed my fish I noticed my BTT vertical near the surface of the water, I thought something was wrong, so I started recording him and he started spitting water. I’ve never seen this behavior until today. He has been in my tank for about 9 weeks now. Is this normal? Anyone else have experience with this? My other fish are all fine.

Normal, its triggers doing what they do. Wait till you hear the 'grunt', almost sounds like a piggy.
That should be interesting. Lol I saw this at the corner of my eye and thought he was gasping for air and I tested all my water afterwards.

Your good, enjoy the fish. IMHO triggers are one of the more hardy fish Ive ever kept. Usually arent TOO fussy, eat anything and are fairly active.

Yep, all normal. Mine does that to let me know he’s hungry. Along with grunting they will also make chomping sounds with their jaws. Sounds like he’s wearing dentures. Funny fish.

Yeah, he is great when he isn't being so shy.

Now i'm interested to see if mine will start grunting one day. Should be funny to hear.

very normal... my worst offender (by far) is my cow fish... I had to build a special 6 inch rim top around my tank because so much water was making its way on the outside of the tank, stand and floor!
