This post is in reference to the "Be taken seriously" thread.

First off a little back ground on me, I have been in this hobby for 9 months now. I have had lots of ups and downs, almost left the hobby at one point. There are topics I know a lot about, some a little about and some none about. I am constantly learning. When I post, I post truth, I post from my past experience, the pros and cons. I provide my experience and suggestions. There are many ways to succeed in this hobby, not always is there one way to do something. I am knowledgeable with nutrient issues, algea, ich, swim bladder, lighting, quarantining, cycling... might have missed a few basic topics.

For a 30 gallon tank without a sump I believe I have a very successful tank. This is my first tank, I made plenty of mistakes in the beginning as I'm sure others have also.

I have had my share of algea issues, GH, BA, and still battling bryopsis here and there.

I have had ich twice (currently fish are in a qt after TTM) first time was from not quarantining a fish, second time from a coral as I added no new fish.

I did save a Blackcap basslet from a swim bladder issue, I have a sticky in the disease forum and I was featured in R2R online magazine for it.

Really nice tank and your pictures aren't to bad either. :)

Nice tank!:)

Question: Are the primes giving you good growth, and do you think one would be enough to cover an eclipse 12? The dimensions are irregular since it's a bowfront, but it's about 20"L x 18"W x 18"H.

Yes I have really good growth with the primes. I had t5 in the beginning and had good growth also. It did take the primes a long time for me to tune them in right. I actually will be trading some stuff into my lfs this week due to size. Most of my zoas and acans started off with 3-5 heads about 7 months ago and as you can see in the pictures there are some nice colonies. You can do 1 prime for your tank as I also could have done 1 for mine. However I wanted equal pars from left to right and front to back. My primes are only set at 65% power when on.

Thanks for the response! You have a nice tank and its the first prime tank I've seen that has zoas that are flush.

Cool!
How's the Cpr fuge working out for you?
I like it... since u don't have a fuge it's the next bet thing. I have to remove softball size chaeto once a week so my custom holder and jbj light is working great. I have some snails, crabs sand in the fuge. As well as chemipure on the on return shelf so it gets great flow. I also have a gfo bag hanging in there with a small hydor powerhead blowing on it so it tosses the gfo like a reactor. With limited space you need to be creative. Huge nutrient reduction once I have the fuge, chaeto and gfo running in there.

Looks nice!
