I just received my glass cages 48”x27”x22” tall low iron front and sides and I am totally thrilled with it. Joe at glass cages was great to deal with as was modular marine and vivid creative aquatics. I’m planning a mixed reef with a mix of tradacna clams. I may start out with my trigger triton 44 sump but would like to fab my-own version With a roller Matt down the road. Vertex calcium reactor, two maxpect 250’s and two mp40’s for light I’m thinking 3 xr15s 2 3’ orphek blue plus light bars mounted in a hollowed out surfboard using harken cam cleats for Hight adjustment. Here’s some pics

Thanx guys I’ll have to start cutting tomorrow morning. I’d rather wait till my fleece roller shows up but but I need the stock in smaller more manageable pieces.

I am looking at getting a stand from Alufab as well working with Mike as well. Also looking at a tank from Glass cages. Can i ask why you used the diagnal braces on the frame and can i also ask what kind of overflow you selected for the tank? Love the look :)

I really like the surfboard lights with boating cam to adjust height! Amazing job.

Cheers,
Chris

The braces were probably overkill but I had the space and enjoy the piece of mind. I very happy with glass cages, Joe was a pleasure to work with. Great guy. An I went with modular marine for the overflow. They also tolerated my pain in the but need for all things custom an constant changes with extreme patience and tolerance.

A quick peek under the hood. I’ll have 21 outlets in the right cabinet with a small wire box I may have to cut and crimp a few power cords as there isn’t enough room to have the box as big as I’d like. I wanted the trim around the base of the tank removable for future varnish touch ups. the acrylic may get upgraded to ss or aluminum as it’s a little flimsy.

A few updates. I’ve been playing with bonding paneling to epvc and found I preferred liquid nails fuzit to liquid nails xtreme or lock tight x3.I installed tabs so the trim around the tank is easy to remove. And most recently I fabed a stand tray and a couple shelves outa white acrylic, epvc and Weldon 16. And I have to say this stuff is to fun and easy to work with.
