Hi all,

English is not my first language so please forgive for errors with my writting, im also using my phone which is not helping either.

Question:
Can it be more than one bobbit worm in one tank?

I found and extract one and I'm really scared of having more. Specially since it was trying to reproduce.

Let me give you the full picture.

I find that something was releasing enough sperm to make the water of my 340lts cloud.

The day after I investigate de area and found this.

I finally take it out, it was 60cms long. I figure it out that it was feeding on my snails, zoas, acans and whoever knows what else.

Back to my question, is it possible that other of this things migth be in my tank? If yes, can they reproduce in captivity? Is it feasible that i have a neewgeneration of those worms growing in my tank?

I'll really appreciate help on this. My local reef comunity does not have much experience with this worm.

Regards
Julio

Welcome to Reef 2 Reef Julio!

Yes it is possible you have more.

This is what I would do.

I would set up another tank or a trash can with saltwater, heater and powerhead. Then one by one pull out your rock and inspect them carefully. Then dip them in Bayer or coral rx. Rinse the rocks goid and move to the tank or can. Then look through your sand. Remove livestock to temporary tank or can and do a large water change. Hopefully you don't have anymore bit if you do you should be able to find them this way. When you are finished you can put the livestock back in the tank but leave the rock in the tank or can overnight and check again. If no more can be found return the rock to your tank.

With a flashlight look at the rocks during the night. They are moving around nest at that time. Good luck!
