I Was looking under the tank this mourning and found this guy. very light sensitive. Probably a good 1ft plus long.
Haven't a clue where he came from
Must be from day 1 when the tank was set up over 2 years ago with live rock. Haven't had a problems with any livestock missing.. any thoughts ?
Thanks,
Darrell

Looks like one to me but cant tell for sure. Look at the mouth parts to see if there are apposing jaws used for grasping. Pull it while you can.

The appendages on the head make it look like a Bobbit. I say trap it if you can or you can take a wait and see approach for things to go missing. Even if it were harmless I would never be able to enjoy my tank again knowing it's in there (let alone stick my hand in). Eels no problem, aquatic snakes no problem but aquatic worms are the stuff of nightmares for me probably because one of the first posts I read on here was from someone who just caught a 3ft monster of one of these in their tank. Even yours at 15" which is already from my fingertips to past my elbow is too much. LOL. Good luck!

I've seen a few of these lately in people's tanks. Absolutely remove it carefully and send it back to the demon world where it belongs. Best of luck :)

Dang,,, that thing looks cool,,, and scary.

Not 100% from the video but are those tunnels right up against the glass?
If so, couldn't you just try to scoop out that whole section of sand when you see the worm in there (up against the glass)?

I'd want to throw it in a small tank/container for a while and get some more videos/pics and positive ID.

Beyond that though, too big and the scary/grabby head parts would make me want it out of your DT.

looks like a bobbit worm ...I agree with EricR...trap it in the sand and then use a net to scoop it out of the sand and if you have to along with some sand.
I would for sure make sure it does not take a sample bite of you...

Oh man… good luck! I found a 33 inch beast nesting in my LR as my first ever hitch hiker. The rock was gone, don’t care what happened to it. That nightmarish creature can burn where it belongs. But really, I wish you luck with it, you will most likely have to get rid of the whole rock it’s in.

I got INCREDIBLY unlucky with my first ever hitchhikers. It wasnt just ONE bobbit but it was multiple. There were Atleast 4 in the rock. I’d assume 2 adults, 2 younger ones by size (One adult was 33 inch, the other was a nasty 24 inch and the two younger ones were 4 inch and 7 inch).
