Hello everyone. I'm trying to perform a water change at the moment but I dont have a spare heater with me. Is it okay to boil the saltwater just to get it to temp(78).

I would add hot water to a container like a water bottle or milk jug. Then float it inside the water you intend to use.

Not recommended, and you would have to warm the FW and mix the salt first. Boiling or heating SW would likely cause some of the FW to evaporate and then your salinity would be off.

Unless your doing a huge WC, ambient temperature water is fine.

Just use a gallon jug and fill it with hot water to heat up the water. Should work for 5 gallon buckets.

No. You will precipitate calcium carbonate and lower the alk and calcium, maybe other things with it.
