My marbled catshark is still doing well eating whenever I feed him, but I'm just wondering if they like higher or lower flow? I know more flow would be better for surface agitation allowing for more dissolved oxygen, but they are a boneless fish which makes me wonder if they like less flow. He isn't active when the lights are on, but he comes out basically all night until he sees light again.

I believe they can do quite well in high flow. Take that for what it's worth, as my answer is only based on what I could find after reading through various forums on the internet dating back to 2002 or so. Mostly lots of flow is preferred for nitrate control/filtration as it appears that is something people fight with when keeping these sharks (or rays in some cases)

I would, if I were you, get very large D/C controllable powerheads, so you can go up/down on the flow if you find the fish stressed, and also you will future-proof yourself for a bigger tank.
