I had a purple bonsai frag rtn on me last night and for the life of me I can’t figure out why. Periodically I’ll dose Brightwell Aquatics NeoNitro. Last night I dosed in a 45 total volume tank/sump only 4ml of NeoNitro. I tested on my Red Sea Nitrate Pro Kit at 0.25 last Sunday.
Any clue? Nothing else seems affected.

After testing though I do bring up Alk, Ca and Mag up to 8, 430 and 1280.

Any corals near the bonsai? Any known coral biters? Angels, blenny’s etc?

I doubt that the nitrate did this, but you do not need to dose it. The corals are likely not using it since it is easier for them to get their nitrogen from ammonia. Just feed your fish more if you feel like you need to raise it, but you don't... .1 is enough and you have more than this.

All of those levels are fine... it was probably just unlucky. Don't chase anything for this one loss. Everybody loses one every once in a while.

I’ve been doing this a while but it just bugs me when I completely lose one over night and not know why. I didn’t think the NeoNitro did it but it’s the only thing I dosed last night.
