Bored? How about Mentoring a Newbie?

use any of brs or marine depot ones (marine depot having some good sales, so just compare prices and buy)......except the ROX.
The rox is too strong and I feel it strip the water too much that end up taking out some of the useful nutrients.
Balance is important and we also want to keep nutrients the system for coral to thrive.

Btw we will change carbon once a month. Remember that.
Gotcha

@Ohashimz
Can we please some pics of the mentor's tank / tanks ????

Btw. Great job from both of u in your perforance of roles here. Enjoying the thread!

Honestly i am horrible horrible with taking pictures and I do not like post edits where the picture become almost fake.
I have a thread with randy Holmes 2 years ago, I have pica of the system 2 2.5 years ago I believe. You can take a look.
Now system is so much diffrent, sps are like weed.
Will try to take some new pics and upload.

I also have a tank thread on the zeovit forum which I am active at..at least used to before I get in to R2R. There are some pictures also that are 3 years old..
Will tey to upload on a seprate thread.

Just a couple of quick pics for visualization (dont have to be perfect) and a very brief intro / history or your reefing experience would be very interesting and informative to all of us people following along and interested in this thread. Maybe u yourself need a tank photography mentor??? Haha. (And no im not volunteering since my own pics turn out bad.)

Either way good job and cant wait to see how the tank turns out.

***I will even offer to donate some SPS frags from my own tank to the OP's tank when everything gets sorted and ready for them

So just for the record, I apologize to anyone struggling with my write ups if my grammers and typo mistakes are many....
Clearly english is not my native tongue. Also I use my tiny phone to write and the auto correct on this thing is crazy.....lol
so before you judge me know I speak 3 languages just enough to communicate and get my point across..or at least I hope I am ha ha.
Cheers.
Many of us have problems with the autocorrect and we don’t even speak that many languages! Super cool you can! Didn’t really notice any mistakes anyway! Thanks for helping us all!

You too kind. thank you. Was not trying to brag, just saying English is not my native language...clearly ha ha ha

ok, so I now have 20gal of RODI saltwater from the lfs and 10gal of fresh RODI water. My plan is to empty the sump, clean it out, and at the same time swap out 10gal of water.
Also, add carbon to the reactor and a bag of of rowaphos to the sump. Sound ok?

How high?
We usually run 10+ in our reef for years and still currently in the small newer reef. But since we experimented and added some SPS to our LPS tank and it’s covered in coraline the alk has been dropping and we have had to add.honestly though I’m just keeping some corals alive but kill more than I like. :( we don’t have good coral growth except leathers and star polyps! Thanks for hoping not minding me tagging along. I’m tired of reading about all the fish dying and sick so this thread is enlightening and truly helpful. Great idea you had!!
