Bored With T5’s.

Hey everyone.
I’ve been running an ATI 6x54 with good success. I was extremely bored with the flat look the T5’s give so I added a LumiLite Blue LED bar. It helped give it slight pop in my Corals which is great. But not as much as I had hoped. The shimmer is very very minimal, despite how much surface agitation I have.

Was possibly interested in swapping out the LumiLite for two Kessil 160’s or even 360’s if funds allowed. I’d hang these in front of my ATI angling them in. From what I’m gathering, it seems Kessil/T5 combo is one of the best and most recommended combinations.

Tank is a 120 4x2x2 SPS Dominant tank.

What are your thoughts?

I second the T5 Kessil combo

for that size tank a pair of A360's would be perfect

Im not running it amymore but heres what I came up with. Used articulating speaker mounts that I attached to top of fixture. Allowed me to angle the lights inward. Not sure if it would have worked with the 360’s but they make an articulating mount for the 360. Not the 160 as far as I know.

That pic is about 4 months old it had 3 Blue+ and 1 Coral+.
I now run 5 T5's as of 3 days ago from front to back Super Actinic, Blue+,Purple+ LED's BLue+, Blue+. Really like the Super Actinic over the ATI Actinic, and the Purple+ makes the colors less washed out and brighter.

Thanks for posting! I am thinking of adding T5 to my Hydras. My vote goes to Hydra HD. So happy with them

Just added 2 72 inch 50/50 Reefbrites to mine...Love the look.....just a phone pic...and it doesn't do it justice..I run 4 rolls of blue plus and 1 roll of purple plus.

Your welcome, my tank is a nano transfer that's only been up for 4 months so stuff is still slow going. lol Here's a full tank shot for you.

I’ve axtually previously ran 3x Hydra 26HD’s with 3x T5 Bulbs ironically enough. Great combo. Though I was looking to do Kessil instead. Being that they would be in front of my ATI hanging inward, the Hydra’s would be too bulky and take up too much of the opening between my light fixtures and Euro brace.

well kessils are nice too, I doubt you will be disappointed with the results. I wanted to go with kessils too but went with what i know to play it safe. Plus I got the reefer deluxe which came with hydras lol. Made it easy..
