Hi Guys, does anyone make their own boron mix with boric acid?

If you have a test kit, and want to supplement boron, you can also just use borax (from the grocery store; borax is 21.5% boron by weight) dissolved in water. One teaspoon will weigh about 4 grams, so 1 teaspoon in a 100 gallon tank will raise the boron level by 0.21 mM (2.3 ppm).

That for that was a good read, am i correct in thinking boric acid is stronger than borax or just a different make up. Just wondering if ar g rrade boric acid is cleaner to use than supermarket borax

It’s a little bit stronger and depletes alkalinity somewhat. It could be purer.
