Both Fluval Sea C4 Pumps Going in Reverse

I am absolutely baffled at this current situation.

One of my Fluval Sea C4 pumps was making a grinding noise today so I went to go check it out, and that's when I noticed that I didn't have any flow in my tank. I put my hand over both pumps and noticed that each one is sucking in water instead of pushing it out. This all happened overnight to both of them. I did everything that was recommended online: unplugging, trying different outlets, taking apart the pumps and scrubbing them completely clean. I also tried to push the propeller in the direction that it's supposed to go. Additionally, after I plugged in the second pump again it started to make a grinding noise, even though it was completely silent before.

So both pumps are noisy all of a sudden and the propellers are going backwards. What else can I do?

Edit to mention: we've been having thunderstorms today and yesterday. Would that affect them at all? Also the title has a typo, I meant the Fluval Sea CP4 pump.

I googled this again because I'm still having issues and this was the first thread that came up. I'd like to add in the 8 months since this issue began this is what I have tried:

- unplugging/plugging them back in
- completely cleaning them with a vinegar soak
- spinning the propeller in the correct direction
- using an object like a pencil to stop the propeller while holding the pump out of the water, then forcing it into the right direction

This last option will usually let the wavemaker work for about a day before it continues to go in reverse.
