So they drilled the holes for my synergy reef overflow too close together by an inch.

Really not sure what to do now.... Any suggestions???

The saga continues... All I can do at this point is laugh, otherwise I'll cry [emoji23]

Looks like I'm going to have to wait until Tuesday to get a hold of anyone about the overflow. In the mean time I still needed to get the tank up and running so I could get everything out of my old tank and break it down, so I did some temporary plumbing

I still haven't filled it up all the way, but everything is transferred and happy. I need to pull out my DSLR and get some good pics

Tomorrow, aquascaping!

Wow, sorry man that is horrible. I would be calling first thing in the morning. Did you already have the overflow? I know you picked the tank up Friday. Did you not check to make sure everything was right, before leaving with it? You actually picked it up from AGE right? Ask to speak with Ian(the manager). I'm sure he will make it right. They should that is just a huge mistake. I wonder if it would be more cost effective to have Synergy build you a custom overflow to fit the holes, and have AGE pay for that rather than a new tank.

I picked it up but I didn't even think to measure the holes...i just assumed they would do it right since they're the ones that told me they would be drilling it specifically for that overflow. I already bought the overflow, but I'm hoping Synergy Reef will let me return it since I haven't got it wet yet. Definitely a better option to change the overflow rather than the tank

If synergy reef can't build me a custom one fast, I have a local acrylic guy who will build me a custom overflow. I'm hoping AGE will at least be willing to pay for it!

Definitely a dream tank alright! Will have to follow this one.

I think you mentioned you had a 20" Synergy overflow. Do the holes maybe match up to the 16" version? Did AGE have the template for the correct overflow? Hope Rick at Synergy will be able to do something to help you out, under these circumstances.

I was thinking the same thing, but I checked out the 16" template and it looked much different. That would have been the easy solution

Well, I've got some temporary plumbing going on thus the water level in the tank is a little lower than it should be, and it's really loud....but it's aquascaped (except for frag placement) and everything is doing well. Here's a video:

Good news. AGE is going to come pick up my synergy reef overflow and modify it to work with the holes they drilled. Hoping for a quick turnaround.

Hey everyone,

AGE fixed my overflow and I'm finally up and running for real!

Here is a new video that is much better than the first.

It shows as much detail as possible for the livestock in my tank and I've labeled things as much as I could based on what I could find on the web. If any of you could add any additional details as to specific names for my corals I would GREATLY appreciate it and will be happy to credit you with the ID in the video comments.

Awesome videography! Love how your tank turned out very, nice. The shimmer from those Kessils is outstanding!
