To me it looks like a dead soft coral or closed up soft coral, should be good also r2r has a way to upload photos that works better than linking to tumblr

What happened with that tan stuff covering the left of the rock? The beautiful colors of my cycling LR is being taken over by that tan stuff

The tan stuff ended up being gsp in rough shape due to the lfs not running lights on the rocks

Yeah. If the GSP is alive, you may want to isolate the rock or get rid of it. GSP is beautiful, but it can really take over.
