its good you caught it on time and made changes to correct. as said make sure to quickly check any water before a water change. who knows what might have gone wrong, employee makes a mistake and gives you RO water instead of salt water mix...
I have went as far as sending a sample of the fresh mixed water for a triton testing when I shifted to a new salt I believe was giving me issues.
checking PH, alk and Ca at least of water before a water change should also be done as there were a few documented bad batches of salt that came with extreme low alk and PH that killed many tanks.
