:( Was afraid so. I have vermatid snails already in one of my tanks... didnt want it in the new one i am setting up too. Who sells pest-free chaeto?

I hate vermetid more than anything. If you fresh water dip it (to kill other hitchhikers) and then remove the clumps with the vermetid, you can keep the rest. Never seen those grow on chaeto though so that's interesting

I’m 80-90% certain its vermatid. Hard somewhat curly tubes that are adherent to the chaeto. Looks and feels just like the vermatid in my other tank although a lottle smaller than the average vermatid in my tank.

I'm going to assert spiroid worms rather than vermetid as an plausible alternative. Need closer picture for solid IDing.

I also inclined to think worm. I am totally guessing bristle worm.

Best pics i can manage with an iphone, thanks for the help

Does not look like little fire-worms. May be the vermatid like you thought

In case anyone wonders what 30 minutes of picking chaeto clean looks like. ;Wacky Oh lort, this hobby... so glad my wife isn’t home to laugh at me right now

When in doubt, don’t put it in your tank, ever.
If you live on Long Island, NY, I have a bunch for you, no cost, just pickup

Thanks, but that’s quite the drive for me. Birmingham, AL :D

Ok, make it a long weekend, I have a spare room, cheap rates. If you wait a month, Striped Bass fishing will be excellent. I had a 50 Lb last year, and a 49 lber this past season.

Have boat........and I travel, by July we’re fishing for Shark, Tuna, Mali, and Swordfish

Don’t tempt me now, you are talking to someone that owns upwards of 2 dozen saltwater rods and is currently landlocked!

Well i definitely don’t like vermatids. I wouldn’t willingly put something in my tank that has visible vermatids on it. They are ugly, irritate corals, and can be invasive. They got introduced to my last tank on a mushroom rock. Didn’t know what they were at first until they were everywhere.
