Bought Tisbe pods and just pour?

Do I pour the whole content of water into the tank or use a filter floss? My first time ordering these.

Not sure what you have, but if it is a container of live pods, yes, you pour the water in. Preferably in the dark, with low flow, so they can find someplace to settle before either being eaten or sucked into your overflow.

Turn off your pumps and skimmer and remove your filter sock and pour them directly into your tank. Best to do as toy turn off the lights so your fish don't consider them a free buffet. Let them settle down, then turn the pumps back on. I'd leave the filter sock out over night and the skimmer off the first night.

Same as above (I kill all pumps and preferably in the dark), but I poured half of the “mix” directly into the display and half into the refugium. That way, there’s a population that can live on and be occasionally thrown into the display by the return pump. That’s my theory at least!

Good question. I have wondered the same thing. I am about to purchase my first order of Pods. I am wondering the same. Should I pour their water into my system. Wondering if there water could cause issues with my system..

That is good to hear considering I was planning on ordering from you guys next week. I am more concerned with the water than the pods though. I was planning on catching the pods with a small fish net then adding them to my tank water before dumping then in. Will that be ok as well?

We package with freshly mixed saltwater. There is nothing to worry about there. You would want to use a 50 micron mesh to make sure you catch all of copepods and nauplii.

Each species of copepod we sell is individually cultivated indoors within a dedicated location in our facility (11,500sqft). We only feed live phytoplankton and the water we use for that is particle filtered to 0.2microns (which removes almost all particles, bacteria, cilitates, etc) and then we use a proprietary sterilizing method to ensure we kill any residual bacteria, viruses, or spores that could have possibly made its way through a 0.2micron filter.

All of our small culture phytoplankton transfers are done in a sterile environment.

We are also located in Colorado, so we don't really have any saltwater-compatible aireborne disease.

All of our fish are kept in the office area, and they all have dedicated nets, buckets, etc.
