sounds like popping a cyst to me, most likely it wouldn't kill it.

how strange, I wonder why the mushroom feels the need for bubbles... makes no sense...

I feel like it just naturally fixes itself if you puncture the bubble. If you cut off the bubble or something then I’m sure the bubble would be way past gone.

could they be forming tentacles due to close proximity to other corals for defence or to catch additional food?
