Bounce Mushroom Health

I have a few bounces in a lower light area. An OG, frank, and biohazard. They are getting translucent/clear looking, and looking bleached but they are only in 50 par. AI Prime 16 lights. Not really sure what’s going on.

Yeah, they are open. Just translucent/clear looking. I’ll get a pic when I get home later today.

I have several other mushrooms that are doing just fine. Not really sure why bounces always give me issues. I’ve been in the hobby for over 10 years.

Probably not what you want to hear but I had a similar situation and lost all Rhodactis. Magic carpet, OG, Frangenstein, a few unnamed bounces, and sunkist. The first three, I'd had for 3+ years with natural splits and babies. They declined over the course of a few months and withered away about a year after it started.
I did antibiotic dips, iodine dips, revive, water changes, moved them to different systems. Nothing stopped it. I'd have to assume its some odd Rhodactis specific infection

Thanks for the input. It seems to be just with these bounce types. I’ve bought a few now over the years and they just do the same thing over and over. None make it but all my others are fine. Rhodactis, discoma, and I have a magic carpet all doing fine for years now. I honestly don’t get it.

I actually think they need slightly more light for photosynthesis. I have the exact same bounce shroom and I kind of neglected it on the sandbed and zoas started to cover it. So basically heavy shaded. Took it out it was translucent too. Put it up on a rock getting probably 75 par now and it's color has come back.

Thanks, I’ll try moving it closer to some light. Just didn’t want to stress it more but clearly I should probably do something.

I'm no expert but I have quite a few different types of shrooms in my tank doing pretty well. The majority are attached to rocks facing the sides of the tank. I feel to much flow is worse then light issues for shrooms.

I feel like this is a dumb issue since they are one of the easiest corals to take care of. I have a mixed reef of everything and these are just struggling for some reason.

The bounce might just be a little finicky. I have King Julius bounce on the right side along with yuma s and they are all huge and splitting multiple times. I have OG and Sunburst bounce on the left side of the tank with more yumas and these all have good color but not much growth and minimal splitting. I'm guessing its essentially the same tank conditions on each side yet one batch does much better then the other batch which is confusing. I put rics mid level under 200 par and they have done well there but with torches, favia and zoas surrounding them they are slowly getting pushed off the reef.

UPDATE: OG Bounce seems to be doing better. It’s been in more light. About double from where it was.
