I bought a type off bounce mushroom. Not a true 600 dollar peice... But anyways I have had it for about 2months now it won't open up like pictures from the persons tank I bought from. The bubbles are just about gone.
Parameters
78 degrees
1.025 salt
440 CA
1440 mag
14 ppm no3
.16 po4
Alk is 9.5
Lighting is a 6 bulb t5 set up working on changing bulbs but it has a blue + coral+ purple+ blue+ ati in it right now still have another coral+ and blue plus to add.
Tank is a 90 display
Mp10
Wp25
Wp40
Moved from sand to up on a rock 4 inches off the bottom still won't open
. Any help would be appreciated

mushrooms need a lite water movement indirect, low to moderate lighting. What has changed since you got it. Have you made any changes recently? additives, light levels or perhaps a flat worm treatment. Lower you alk to 8ish, nitrate should be <10pm (use NO3PO4X from red sea) good luck

Working on alk and nitrate
Nitrate before we at. A 64 and po4 was at a 3.06

That was around thanks giving last night my test showed a .16 po4. I keep my alk stable at a 9.5 I use reef Chrystal's

Srooms like dirty water I lose many jawbreakers and bounces too till I remove all reactors w media just live carbon and I do water change every month

I know my bounce shrooms like a brighter light and low flow (not no flow at all just not enough flow that it blows the shroom around). I know on my tank I do water changes often but I do very small changes it keeps the water not extremely clean and doesn't alter the chemistry of the tank as much as a 25-35% change, and this has proven with mine to work great.

Yea i do a 10%a week water change . I know shrooms are hearty I'd just love for this to open up once again

Another thing is how long have you had this coral, because sometimes with shrooms they can be weird as in will adapt to a tank right away and some ive had takes weeks for it to actually look like what I purchased

Hmm id say just stay on the small water changes and try to place it somewhere with lower flow just until it get to coming back around. Id say something is just a little off to its liking and with consistency its should straighten back out.
