Happy Sunday. It's time to have fun with this again. I stay quiet but every now and again like to throw things out there.
You all know my stance on the hype in this industry so you know where this is going...
Let's not get started on the ridiculousness that is the mushroom trend right now, with people paying more than a decent car for something with a crazy name. For now let's just enjoy (gag) the hype of the bounce. I always joke (although it's true) that "Bounce" mushrooms are simply Rhodactis mushrooms with highly inflated vesicles, and that pretty much any of these species can develop the inflated pseudo tentacles people pay through the nose for. It usually gets hobbyists a little offended as they're treating them like this rarity that's never seen unless it comes from a vendor who obviously magically transformed them. In fact it happens all the time both in nature (shallow water species) and in closed systems as most can develop them. So lo and behold, I give you, a "Bounce" colony! In one of the displays at our facility. Yes, they're under a natural color temperature so no fluorescence here. Enjoy, and as always you may add any of your thoughts to the comments.
