Just curious what a bounce shroom is?

What im trying to get at is I want to buy a mushroom that could possibly turn into a bounce one day.
Are all bounce shrooms originally Rhodactis, interstellar, etc?

Or are they just a different type of mushroom know as bounce?
Are there bounce shrooms out there with no oversized polyps?

Thanks

They're a rhodactis with enlarged pseudo-tentacles. You'd have to buy a high end rhodactis which already has large tentacles and then blast it with only blue light (or so the legend goes). This causes it's psuedotentacles to swell and inflate, which gives it its bounce appearance.

But unless you're hand picking the specimen, you'd never know if it even had a chance of going bounce. And unless you know exactly what you were looking for, you may not even be able to pick out a specimen with potential.

So unless you have a few hundred dollars to gamble on a shroom that may or may not go bounce, I would steer clear of trying to make your own.

interesting.

I just received a couple nice mushrooms. I'm not 100% convinced that they are "bounce" mushrooms.

Bounce shrooms can form multiple vesicles or a few large ones. Pricing is coming down but the rare ones are still sticking

Those are yuma or ricordea. Not 100% sure of which one they are, but they are 1 of the 2. They are not bounce. They look similar because of the big "bubbles" but bounce shrooms normally do not have as many as yuma's or ricordea.

Still learning on all these mushrooms myself, so take my post with a grain of salt.

Good looking shrooms either way. Can't wait to get my hands on a nice yuma!!

Bounce shrooms are interesting quirks in coral anatomy, but like I said a while back, don't waste a ton of money on trying to make one. They're rare in the wild and can be made under perfect conditions, but unless you're an expert (and I by no means am), you shouldn't gamble on it.
