So about two weeks ago I noticed this zoa bubbling up. Not sure the name of it but does this happen? Nothing new added to the tank in maybe 3 months.

zoanthid umbrella syndrome. Can be caused by lighting changes or changes in water chemistry

Nothing good happens after zoas umbrella like that. Have had beautiful colonies melt shortly after that. All I could account it to was light and running very low nutrients. After both were corrected didn't see it again.

Looked up umbrella syndrome and really can’t say it’s that. All my zoas are acting normal. Just this colony that’s doing this. They react normal to touch.
If you look closely it’s got bubbles or bounce even in the disks not just the tentacles. It’s pretty wild.
The zoas have a puffed appearance not a folded skirt type appearance.

Maybe @joshporksandwich can help a fellow Hialeah friend out.

I thought we were talking about the skirts bouncing and not the umbrella thing? the skirt does not usually bounce when they umbrella

Had the same thing happen with a single frag.......just the skirt and no umbrella affect. It was surrounded with same type zoa frags, but was the only one to do this.
