Hello,

I had a so-called "raspberry donut bowerbanki" that had this amazing pink coloration, but as time passed, the coloration faded a bit. Does anybody have any tips as to what tends to affect bowerbankis? Does lighting tend to play a huge role, or does it tend to be more water quality (and if so what trace elements exactly play a role)?

Water parameters and light intensity with spectrum different than what it was kept under before you bought it plays a factor.

Most all corals will color shift in our tanks because of our own lights. LPS and SPS will look different in time.

Absolutely- I guess my question is far more specific. Some corals change color simply due to light intensity- like acans and gsp. Others shift more due to spectrum, like acropora and montipora. All corals, to an extent, shift colors due to parameters, but corals like xenia rely on different trace elements for coloration than montipora. My question is which of those three conditions, or combination of those conditions, apply to bowerbanki corals in a way that it is meaningful to strive for?
