I got this guy as a bowser and didn't really believe it in the first place.

What do you guys think? Very nice either way.

Got it for $50 so I sure am happy, store got it in a trade and insisted that it was legit.

bowser in person is very very bright colored!
Actually, the real bowsers aren't as brightly colored as people think. The bright colored "bowsers" are another type of zoas that some people called "Shazams" or something like that. Bowsers are hard to come by now and people wanted to bring them back into the hobby but the new ones are much brighter then the originals. The original bowsers are not as brightly colors and almost went extinct from the hobby because everyone kept trying to frag them and they are very finicky to being fragged. There is an article on them somewhere on here

I had about 10 different types... There is only one that is significantly larger and brighter than the rest and they do terrible in aquariums and fragging. I had 10 of them and they all died rapidly. The others I would say are all candy apple reds variants depending on how much light they have been exposed to.

Here's the thread I think you were referring to: Bowsers Story Time

This one is popping a baby, and has kept the coloring, I have CAR's right next to them and have thought about the same thing but they just look too different.

I had shazams. was not impressed. they melted after a while i never even tried to frag them.

Likely a CB or similar bowser which is really a Candy apple orange. Very few people have the original jay painters bowsers.
