Box jelly at fish store

Sorry guys, im at work. Did not know i’d get this many replies this early lol. Well i am in Houston Texas, the asian store is called city pets. And also they have carried blue ringed octopus as well.
And to the smart *** (jk) i meant to say opened top aquarium.
I will take a picture on Saturday when i go if it is still there. I just hope they dont sell that jelly to someone who does not really know anything about jellies.

On another note. Quickly changing the subject, i read some post that said, sticking their hand in the tank killed off everything. How do i avoid this? I mean like i almost seriously stick my hand in the water like everyday . Do i wash my hands with hand soap and then it will be safe? I did see something about reef soap. Please i dont want to kill my anemones and corals.
My whole family calls me that so no offense taken lol. I figured that's what you meant

brs sells a reef safe soap that is supposed to make your skin more reef safe and rids of the oils. however I would still try and get some aqua gloves or something that is safe. mine go all the way up to my shoulder

Good for you. Not all LFS people are as reasonable.

I got yelled at for killing a sale back in the late 90's. LFS guy was ready to bag up a blue ring octopus for a 10 year old kid and his mom, as a 'first fish' for his his brand new, just cycled 29 gallon aquarium. Never mentioned to Mom that the darned thing could easily kill her son.

The store owner should have thanked you. If the kid would have died due to the octopus, I guarantee the store would have been shutdown and the owner may have faced negligence charges. There is no alderman in the USA I have come across that would allow a renewal of occupancy if that had happened. You saved his business and his freedom.

Quit that!

Get some tongs, forceps, and/or hemostats. Gloves? Maybe... I don't use 'em.

I've got everything from dedicated aquarium tongs, to ones intended for kitchen use, to oversized medical looking ones. Even picked up a set of dip coated stainless ones at a coral show. Keep 'em clean, dedicated to tank use, and keep your dirty mitts outa the darned tank!

The store owner should have thanked you.

Guy was an idiot. Shop didn't last 6 months, and I was happy to see him close his doors.

Depending on how deep your tank is, anything from dollar store dishwashing gloves to something like this:

Also tongs, tweezers etc as mentioned...

I will snap a pic on Sat if i end up going. I usually do go on weekends. I love fish stores that contain saltwater animals

Thanks for the link man. I will order some today and i will also order the reef safe soap as well.

The jelly was not in no glass bottle it was in a 40 gallon tank with an opened tank.
