So summer is here and the 120g is heating up, no big deal on hot days w ac but those mild days the tank starts drifting up and I want to cool it down/have some insurance. Previously I had a tunze unit, worked for almost a year then one fan died. I liked its form factor but the price is a bit high for 80 bucks considering it’s life span is less than a heater. I know there are clip on options but I’m looking for a nice form factor and found these class of fans by Boyu. I’m not usually a eBay shopper, but it seems there are limited options that are not clip on or DIY computer fans.

Does anyone have any experiences with these fans or similar brands ?

I use a similar brand for my 29g and pretty happy with it. I was also able to control its speed using a pwm setup. I’m using it for almost two years now, so can’t comment on its longevity beyond that

I'm using it on my 20g anemone tank that's in my workshop that was set up in January. First summer using it so I can't tell about longevity but it's quiet and does cool the tank a few degrees. The workshop's ambient temperature can get pretty high during the summer so I have the fan kick on when the temp in the tank reaches 79.5. So far on the hottest day we've had the fan kept the tank at 82. I did have to modify it to secure it to the rimmed tank.
