My wife and I wanted to get our 2 year old a fish so we went to the LFS. Once I stepped foot in and glanced over at their marine display tanks I fell in love. IM HOOKED! Long story short I brought home an Innovative Marine Nuvo SR-60. Im new to this wonderful hobby and this is my very first tank and I love it. I also purchased Ghost skimmer, Eheim heater, 3 bags of carribsea fiji pink, LR and now my baby is cycling. I don't have any lights yet but I will be getting two AI 26s with the EXT mounting system. The space between my wall and the tank is about 2.5" so my question is did I screw myself? Is there enough room to mount or should I go a different route? Any advice will be greatly appreciate it.

and now the photos.....

if you have 2.5" in the back, you should be fine w/ the AI mounting bracket. i just measured mine and it looks to be less than 1.75" deep. tank looks great by the way, i've seen the IM SR series tanks and i like them a lot. their low iron glass looks very clear and is extremely smooth. i think it's a great AIO system.

That's a nice tank, great looking aquascape to. Welcome to the hobby, you will get addicted. Lol

Congrats man! It is indeed a great hobby. I just never thought I would personally sink over 7K on this thing... And I'm not nearly done yet. Hahahah
"No honey, I have no money for more shoes"

Pimentinha, I hear you..my wallet has been very sad.

I just got back from the LFS and I guess this isn't really helping.....

Any suggestions on how to mount these bad boys? My tank weighs a ton and I have two inches between tank and wall so the EXT route isn't going to happen.

Nice nice nice!!! There is a mounting kit they sell if I'm not mistaken. Hang them from the ceiling! That's what I did with my maxspect razors. I don't know if you will like how it looks but that's an option...

No worries.
Really nice Set up you have in there. What are you going to use as a skimmer?

i have a full size innovative marine Ghost skimmers. Next on my list is 1 MP10

Good job. If you didn't live nearly a week's worth of driving from me I would pass by to check it out! Lol

It's turning out to be a wayyyy to good tank for a 2 year old... I can make an educated prediction that it will be a reef tank...
Just out of curiosity, do you have more live rock in the sump? For a reef, that is way too little rock for filtration. Just my .02

thanks prime!

pimentinha, i dont have a sump but I was thinking about adding more LR. Im still new to this so I appreciate the help.

Anytime. I'm sure there is a lot of people here willing to help you out with anything you need.

Of course you don't... My bad.
Did you get a skimmer for it already?
Conventionally speaking it is recommended to have between 2-3 pounds of rock per gallon of water for a reef. IMO you can get away with less given that you provide good filtration but anyways, that's the recommended amount...

I do have the Ghost skimmer rocking and rolling in the back. ill probably add another shekf on the right side :)
