Hello,
I've been lurking in these forums for a while now and finally decided to join. I've found the macro section here to be particularly active — a very welcome rarity compared to other aquarium forums.
Does anyone have any information on successfully keeping macro algae (or freshwater plant species) in brackish water (SG ≈ 1.010). I'm setting up a small 6 gallon to establish a breeding colony of Halocaridina rubra as seahorse treats. I'm thinking I might have success with Ulva and have read Marimo moss balls can be sustained long-term in low salt levels. I'm sure mangroves would do well, but I don't think the shrimp would find them palatable nor provide enough surface area for bacteria growth.
